Can't I just download my credit card statement as Excel from my bank?+
Usually not in full. Most card issuers only let you export the last 90 days–24 months of recent activity as CSV — not your official monthly statements, and not older history. Converting the PDF statement gives you every charge, from any period, exactly as it appears on the statement.
Does it work with Chase, Amex, Citi, Capital One and Discover?+
Yes. It reads the statement's layout automatically, so it works with every major card issuer — Chase, American Express, Citi, Capital One, Discover, Bank of America and more — as well as smaller banks and store cards we've never seen before.
Can I reconcile the statement in Excel afterwards?+
Yes — that's the point. You get clean columns (date, merchant, amount) plus the statement's opening and closing balances, so the totals tie out. Drop it into your own reconciliation sheet, QuickBooks, or Xero without re-keying.
Do you support password-protected statements?+
Yes. Many card e-statements are locked — you enter the password when you upload, it's used only to open that one file, and it's never stored.
